Faiysal Alikhan is the Director Commercial of DHL Pakistan. He was invited to join Pakistan’s International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and chairs ICC Pakistan’s Commission on Customs and Trade Regulation. Faiysal works with the ICC and government officials regarding customs and the courier industry. He is working with business councils and chambers in Pakistan and North America to promote trade between the two regions. Faiysal AliKhan studied Sustainable Agriculture and Third World Development at Hampshire College in Massachusetts, USA. He graduated from the University of Kent, Canterbury in the UK where he double majored in Business Administration and Politics. Upon his return to Pakistan, Faiysal founded the Foundation for Integrated Development (FIDA) an NGO based in Dera Ismail Khan, NWFP. The objective of this organization is to create a model which can be replicated in other districts for service delivery/ implementation of the Devolution Plan using the district funds, with no reliance on donors for the ancillary/basic services. The focus is on rural development and sustainable livelihood. In the aftermath of the 2005 earthquake, Faiysal combined his humanitarian and corporate interests by bringing DHL’s international Airport Emergency Team to handle relief goods entering Chaklala Airbase. He is currently serving on the board of the Rural Support Programmes Network (RSPN) and is a member of a number of their steering committees.
